Karibu sets new benchmark
Stiefel Digitalprint has installed the world’s first Karibu roll-to-roll printer, thus significantly raising the quality of its roll-to- roll print production.
Based in Lenting, near Munich, Stiefel Digitalprint is extremely enthusiastic about the latest addition to the swissQprint product portfolio, which was launched earlier this year at FESPA Global Print Expo, with both the company’s Managing Director, Bernhard Stiefel and the machine’s operator waxing lyrical about its efficacy.
Bernhard Stiefel declared: “The print quality we are achieving with the Karibu is the best I’ve ever seen in roll-to-roll printing!”
The company, which has been a committed swissQprint user since 2011 and has previously acquired three of the Swiss printer manufacturer’s large-format presses, purchased the Karibu to further complement its equipment line-up
Stiefel Digitalprint delivers a lot of roll-to-roll work for a wide variety of different applications and Bernhard Stiefel feels that the machine is providing the company with a competitive edge. He continued: “As expected, Karibu delivers impeccable quality and is a reliable all-rounder and, although it is primarily being used to print onto various types of PVC tarpaulins, we have also used it to output onto wallpaper, a swathe of different textiles and backlit media too. Needless to say, it has performed flawlessly on each of these substrates.”
Karibu incorporates special features that ensure high efficiency. The machine’s operator, Dennis Weinrich, reserves particular praise for the printer’s cassette system and material handling capabilities: He said: “Roll changes are fast and easy, which makes working with the Karibu a real pleasure.”
He was also appreciative of the edge hold-down devices, which ensure trouble-free processing of thin textiles and widths of wallpaper.
swssQprint reveals that since its debut in May, Karibu is finding favour with sign and print companies around the globe and anticipate that Stiefel Digitalprint will be joined by other equally enthusiastic users in the very near future.
