Mimaki introduces new sign, graphics and textile printers
Mimaki has announced the introduction of a brand-new, large format inkjet printer range, the 330 Series, which includes the JV330-160, CJV330-160 and TS330-1600 models, as well as a new range of CG-AR cutting plotters.

Launched during the company’s Global Innovation Days event, the 330 Series uses Mimaki’s cross-platform strategy to offer a high-end, yet cost-effective, printing solution across several sectors.

Similarly, the CG-AR Series offers users new workflow-enhancing, entry-level cutting plotter technologies and is available in three sizes.

Both launches align with Mimaki’s objective to grow both its high-end and entry-level product range, to further encourage and support customers expanding and improving upon their printing services and product offering.

Following on from the success of the 100 and 300 Plus Series, the 330 Series has been developed to offer mid-to-high-end printing models, focusing on high image quality and productivity. As a company renowned for its high-colour range, Mimaki’s newest printers can deliver high resolution, durable prints for the sign, graphics and textile printing sectors.
The JV330-160 and CJV330-160 eco-solvent inkjet printers deliver the high standard of colour required for the production of indoor and outdoor signs and graphics through the new ‘Deep Color Natural’ input profile that offers eye-catching and vivid solid colours and natural skin tones, as well as deep reds and neutral greys. In addition, In-built cleaning mechanisms and monitoring features ensure an efficient workflow and facilitate longer running times.
Both models feature a newly designed unwinding system that enables three rolls of media to be loaded simultaneously, thus reducing the time and labour required to change material. One operator can bring the desired media into position simply by turning the media changer.

Another standard feature is an ‘XY slitter’ – a highly precise cutting technology that provides in-line X-axis and Y-axis sheet-fed cutting. This eliminates the unwinding and manual cutting from the workflow, helping printers to significantly speed up and streamline the post-print process, with less interference.

Hybrid Services, Mimaki’s distributor for the UK and Ireland, will be exclusively presenting the new CJV330-160 at the forthcoming Sign & Digital UK exhibition, which will take place at Birmingham’s NEC on 22nd-24th March.

Hybrid’s Reseller Account Manager, Martin Southworth, anticipates a strong uptake of the new technology. He said: “Mimaki once again pushes forward with intuitive, cost-effective and high-quality solutions, and we very much look forward to debuting this latest print and cut technology at the show.”

The JV330-160 print-only model as well as the CJV330-160 integrated printer/cutter will be available globally from April 2022.
In addition to the sign and graphics solutions, Mimaki has also released the TS330-1600, a sublimation transfer inkjet printer, for the textile industry. Enabling both high production and high image quality, and equipped with new functions to improve stable operation, the TS330-1600 achieves a printing speed of 69sq m/h in draft mode with a four-colour ink set, with the fastest mode reaching speeds of up to 135sq m/h.
It also offers optional add-ons to further increase efficiency, including a 10kg ink tank supply unit that reduces ink cost when compared to the standard two-litre ink pack and facilitates longer continuous printing. A mini jumbo roll unit can also be added to load large rolls of transfer paper and further reduce running costs.
Further, an improved take-up system, featuring dual motors on both sides of the printer, distributes the load and strengthens the winding power, enabling stable winding of printed paper even for long runs.

TxLink4, Mimaki’s RIP software, which is dedicated to the textile market is included with every TS330-1600.
All products in the series are fitted with ‘Mimaki Weaving Dot Technology’ (MWDT), which changes the order of ink droplet placement depending on the printing conditions. ‘Mimaki Remote Access’ (MRA) is also available across the series, to enable users to check the machine’s printing status remotely.

To further complement the 330 Series, Mimaki has also launched the CG-AR Series cutting plotters. Available in three different sizes (CG-60AR, CG-100AR and CG-130AR), these plotters go above and beyond the currently available entry-level options. Recognising customer demand for shorter delivery times, the new models combine increased speed and accuracy with user-friendly operability. In addition, the cutters can handle a diverse range of materials, such as PVC, fluorescent and reflective sheets.
The Mimaki CG-AR Series is also equipped with Mimaki Remote Access, and features Mimaki’s ID Cut function, which allows integrated print-and-cut operations when used in combination with a Mimaki printer, by automatically retrieving cutting data via a barcode.

The CG-AR range will be released worldwide in April 2022, and Hybrid will once again be providing visitors to Sign & Digital UK with an exclusive peek at models from the range.

Arjen Evertse, General Manager Sales EMEA, said: “Following the positive reception enjoyed by the 100 Series, we realised that there is a significant demand for more cost-effective, mid-to-high-end technologies and this was the driving force behind our newest cross-platform technology, the 330 Series. The new capabilities of this series cater to customers operating across various industry sectors, who are looking to improve on both output quality and delivery times. We look forward to demonstrating these products to current and potential customers at FESPA 2022 in Berlin.”
