Minister opens new Multipanel factory
Multipanel UK’s multi-million pound factory and Distribution Centre were officially opened at the end of June by Matthew Hancock MP, Minister of State for Skills & Enterprise, who visited the site with local MP Charlie Elphicke and members of Dover District Council.
The new factory is the result of eighteen months of preparation and construction, which sees the company relocate its manufacturing operation from China to a new, high speed production line in Eythorne near Dover, directly creating more than fifty new jobs and bringing a great deal of new business to local companies.
Mr Hancock said:“It is fantastic to see firms such as Multipanel bringing jobs back to the UK and investing in Dover. Visiting Multipanel has given me a chance to see for myself how, with the support of the local council and local MP Charlie Elphicke, the company is using Dover’s prime location to help drive business growth and create jobs.”
Covering an area of more than 10,000 square metres, the project includes warehousing, administration and production facilities with an annual capacity to produce five million square metres of Aluminium Composite Panels including Alupanel, Alupanel A-Lite and Alupanel Ultra-White Digital, all premium products used in the sign and print industries.
