Papergraphics produces its first CPD module for RIBA

Papergraphics, the creator of the Digimura printable wallcovering range, has announced that its first continuing professional development (CPD) module has been approved by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

RIBA architects are required to complete a number of CPD modules every year in order to maintain their membership and accreditation. As a market leader in the production of digital wallcoverings, Papergraphics has focused on promoting best practice in recent years, particularly within the world of interiors.

The company’s first CPD module is entitled ‘Picture This: A Specifier’s Guide to Construction Products Regulations for Digitally Printed Wallcoverings’, which explains the legal safety requirements for printed wallcoverings, falling into three subject and product CPD areas. The module has also been classified within two categories of RIBA’s core curriculum, which means it carries more weight for qualifying CPD. Not only is this an interesting and relevant topic that architects might choose to examine further, RIBA has also categorised it as part of the most important criteria its members should consider.

The aim of the CPD is to help attendees understand:

  • Wallcovering product types and relevant regulations
  • Product performance requirements
  • The correlation between the Construction Products Regulations and the UK Building Regulations
  • What to look for in fire performance, certification and CE Markings

John Selby, CEO of Papergraphics, said: “We’re not only focused on promoting awareness and use of the right product for the right project to our sign, display and digital print customers, we’re also reaching out directly to architects and specifiers, to highlight the practical and legal requirements they need to be aware of. In doing so, we’re also indirectly promoting the creative possibilities that digitally printed wallcoverings (and other applications) can offer them, and are thus helping to drive business for our customers in the digital large format print sector.

“It’s really important to us and has been our message for some time now. To be able to work with a prestigious organisation such as RIBA and to have it to endorse what we’ve been saying all along is very gratifying.”
