Roland DG launches the SC-RD Rotary Axis
Roland DG has further boosted the versatility of the VersaUV LEF and LEF2 Series benchtop printers with the introduction of a clever accessory that makes it possible to print directly on and around the entire surface of cylindrical objects.

The SC-RD rotary axis is quick and simple to install, which means that sign and print companies can immediately start developing new revenue opportunities in the personalised print market.

The SC-RD rotary axis complements the printing power of the VersaUV LEF-20, LEF-200, LEF2-200, SF-200, LEF-300 and LEF2-300 UV-LED benchtop printers and enables these machines to extend their renowned versatility to print directly to the whole surface of cylindrical items. Matched with Roland’s durable, high-adhesion UV inks, the SC-RD facilitates the personalisation of a wide range of items, including everything from bottles, cans and candles, to cosmetics, prototypes and packaging.

VersaWorks 6, Roland’s latest and most powerful RIP software, integrates easily with the SC-RD, eliminating the need to spend time on changing the workflow, while the standard rotary mode function makes it easy for users to switch between modes. The accessory can be easily assembled and installed in the VersaUV by the end-user, so it’s ready to use whenever it’s required. There are no printer parts to remove or cables to connect, as the SC-RD is actually powered by the VersaUV itself.

The SC-RD offers users an affordable way to add new applications and access new markets. As an addition to an existing VersaUV workflow, or an integral part of a new investment, the rotary axis can help sign and print businesses to expand

“The SC-RD is truly the easiest way to expand the possibilities of a UV printer, thanks to its simple software integration and fast installation,” says Paul Willems, Director of Business Development and Product Management, Roland DG EMEA. “This new accessory builds on the already fantastic material versatility and ease of use of the VersaUV LEF and LEF2, to help sign and print businesses to explore new applications and attract new customers.”

The SC-RD rotary axis is available to customers in the EMEA region.
