Astra Signs has recently completed a six-figure wayfinding contract with MEPC for the design, manufacture and installation of a series of signs for Wellington Place in Leeds, which seamlessly blend with the surrounding environment.

The work, which was delivered in partnership with wayfinding experts Placemarque, was secured by Astra Signs because of its innovative approach to design, combined with its extensive wayfinding expertise.

Commenting on the commission, Miles Jones, Development Manager at Wellington Place, said: “Astra Signs and Placemarque worked closely with our team at Wellington Place to explore the brief and successfully integrate the new signs into the high-quality architecture of the estate, while also enhancing the visitor experience and promoting the independent cafés, bars and restaurants.”

Paul Dyke, Astra Signs’ Sales Director, added: “Wellington Place is a remarkable development, that uses cutting-edge design to enhance the buildings’ incredible Grade II heritage features.

“We were proud to work with Miles and his team to help visitors navigate this new and exciting neighbourhood. We used the latest in technological design and manufacturing processes to produce sculptural signage designs that are edged in mesh to mirror the aesthetic of the surrounding architecture, while also providing visitors with all of the essential information they need and adding a striking point of interest.”

Amongst the range of products produced by Astra Signs are a number of digital gateway monoliths that inform visitors what is on offer whilst also helping them to navigate their way to the required destination.

Work commenced in November and took 16 weeks to complete.
