Signs Express Convention is a great success

When Signs Express recently hosted its annual Convention at Mythe Barn in Leicestershire, the event kicked off with Managing Director Jonathan Bean highlighting the achievements of the network throughout 2019 before introducing the company’s 2020 theme of ‘Connect. Inspire. Ignite.’

Alongside 60 franchise owners, ten suppliers were also exclusively invited to attend the event where they presided over a range of demonstrations and presentations covering both new and existing products. For the third consecutive year voters drawn from the Signs Express network named Metamark as Supplier of the Year.

The annual Signs Express Sign Awards, which are designed to recognise the innovative projects produced by the network throughout the previous year, were presented during a celebratory gala dinner. The Signs Express centre owners and employees voted on the entries submitted and the winners were announced as follows:

The award for the Best Interior Sign was won by Signs Express (Central Lancashire) for its work for The Blackpool Express, while Signs Express (Warrington) scooped the award for the Best Exterior Sign in respect of its work for the Palace Theatre. Signs Express (Southampton) was named as the winner of the Best Sign Project for Celebrity Edge and Signs Express (Warrington) picked up the Best Vehicle Graphics accolade for its Passenger Bus Wraps. Finally, the award for the Most Striking Design went to Signs Express (Central Lancashire) for The Blackpool Express

Also announced on the night was the winner of the Employee of the Year category, which was awarded to Matt Rutlidge, Centre Manager at Signs Express (Central Lancashire), while the Newcomer of the Year was named as Jamie Crosby, Signs Express (Coventry) and the winner of the Franchisee of the Year award was Mark Kendall, Signs Express (Southampton)

This year Signs Express has chosen to support Make a Wish and raised a total of £1,000 for this very worthwhile charity through the gala dinner and casino.

Jonathan Bean wrapped up the evening by reiterating the values of Signs Express. He said: 2019 proved to be another great year for us; not only did we implement an extensive rebrand, but we also continued to grow and support our network of franchises.

It is essential that we hold events like the Convention to recognise and reward our centres and to reflect on our achievements, but to also connect, inspire and encourage to ensure our momentum continues.”
