Summa appoints Geert Pierloot as Managing Director
Summa has announced the appointment of Geert Pierloot to the position of Managing Director, starting from October 1st 2021.

Erwin Vandousselaere, Summa’s current CEO, who was appointed as Executive Chairman of the Board when Ergon Capital and the company’s management team acquired the company from Gimv, will focus on strategic projects within the Summa Group, while also continuing to play an active role in the company’s development.

Geert Pierloot began his career at Summa in 1994 as a Product Engineer and has since managed several different departments, including project management, sales, marketing and research and development. He has also been responsible for running Summa’s Laser Division, which is based in Nottingham, since its acquisition in 2018.

With his background and experience, Geert has pronounced himself as being ready to take up the next challenge in his career. He said: “I want to thank Erwin and the Board of Directors for giving me this great opportunity. I am greatly looking forward to taking up this position and leading the Summa team as we continue to grow the company.”

Erwin Vandousselaere added: “Geert carries a Summa-DNA with him and has already provided crucial added value to the company for many years. Thus, he is the right person to lead the day-to-day operational business and management of the group, together with a strengthened management team. Please join me in congratulating him on his new role.”

In recent years, Summa has continued to develop a market-leading range of flatbed and laser cutting technology and believes that this new appointment will enable it to further build on its reputation as an established manufacturer of roll-to-roll and flatbed cutters, while also increasing brand awareness for its laser cutting solutions for the sign and display, textile and garment markets.
