swissQprint unveils a hat trick of new innovations
swissQprint has unveiled a number of new innovations, including the Karibu S, a faster version of its Karibu UV roll-to-roll printer, which combines increased productivity with excellent print quality, plus an automatic double-sided printing capability.

The Karibu S is the ideal machine choice for sign and print companies that operate a multiple shift system to produce large volumes of items such as banners, non-durable poster prints and XL billboards. It offers output speeds of up to 330 sq.m. per hour in tandem with the output of impressively sharp images and edges.

The high throughput rate of the Karibu S is facilitated by a defined printhead configuration that uses four printheads for each process colour. Furthermore, in common with all swissQprint printers, it features nine dual-configurable colour channels, so that one channel is left free to facilitate the use of white ink when printing such items as transparent films.

swissQprint’s product portfolio includes an optimised ink that has been specifically designed for use with its roll-to-roll printers. The ink offers a broad adhesion profile and the requisite level of flexibility to ensure that it can be used on the widest possible variety of roll media and successfully used for applications that involve processes such as cutting, folding and stretching.

Another new feature, which is now also an option on the original Karibu printer too, is automatic double-sided printing, an innovation that is especially useful for applications that are printed on both sides, such as blockout banners, ceiling hangers, stretch banners, posters and so on.

The Karibu printers control the process with the help of an integrated camera system and QR codes printed next to the intended graphic. This ensures that the graphics that are printed on the reverse side of the media are positioned in exactly the right place, so that both sides line up, even if the material is not inserted accurately before reverse printing takes place, or if the roll is inserted in the opposite running direction. The system always recognises the correct positions for the graphics. Lory, the intuitive output software, guides operators through the process – so they have less work (and less thinking) to do, thus virtually eliminating the possibility of errors.

Both Karibu models are also built to the same robust design as all swissQprint products, thus ensuring lifespans well above the average. With their low operating costs, these versatile UV roll-to-roll printers offer the promise of high added value throughout their working lives, together with the high-quality standard that has become synonymous with swissQprint.

Finally, swissQprint has launched its new UV neon inks, which can be used on all of the swissQprint LED printer models to help create impactful graphics.  Now, swissQprint users can immediately start printing these eye-catching neon pink and neon yellow colours on both the rigid substrates and roll materials used for a diverse range of applications including everything from advertising signs, POS displays, backlit and wayfinding signage to posters, exhibition graphics and themed environments in hospitality settings.

Every swissQprint large format printer using LED-printing technology can now be equipped with one or more neon channels and users are free to modify or expand their configuration at any time enabling the neon option to be retrofitted whenever it is desired.
