Talking Print supports Watford FC with good-luck banner

In the run up to its historic FA Cup title bid Watford FC was presented with a 2.5 x 6m banner containing more than 1,300 good luck messages from supporters spanning over 100 countries.

Talking Print’s Managing Director David Hyams was instrumental in coordinating the project and designing the banner with support from Sotic, which managed the data and online forms to create the messages, and Stylographics, which printed the banner.

“The message for the print industry is this is a great example of web-to-print. It also highlights our expertise with innovation in print,” explained David, who added: “I also presented the team with a memento video brochure, and as I am a mad Watford fan, you can imagine what working with them on the project means to me.”

David Hyams commented: “The idea started in 1999 when we did our first banner for the play-off final and we’ve repeated it a number of times since, however this one has exceeded anything we’ve done before in terms of size.

“We had responses from all over the world, including Portugal, South Africa, Zimbabwe, USA and Brazil, with messages of congratulations and some very personal messages from people who have followed the team for many years.

“A lot of the team involved in organising this have been supporting Watford for a very long time – the majority of us were there 35 years ago – so to see the team today and to see the look on their faces has been excellent.”

Talking Print will be launching its new B2C service in June 2019. The innovative web-to-print banner and supporting video brochure are perfect example of how Talking Print loves to innovate with print.
