William Smith’s Open Day a huge success
William Smith Group 1832 welcomed around 100 visitors from the sign and graphics sectors to the recent Open Day it held at its Barnard Castle headquarters, which was designed to inform and inspire.
Attendees were able to enjoy a series of live demonstrations and seminars hosted by industry experts, plus a wrap clinic, which showcased the benefits of the new 3M Wrap Film Series 2080 and the six new colours available in the Avery Dennison Supreme Wrapping Film range. They were also able to learn about new application techniques when using digital wrapping films supplied by 3M, Avery Dennison and Arlon and were encouraged to gain some hands-on experience.
The Architextural Zone, which presented the concept of wrapping fixtures, fittings, furniture and white goods with digitally printed film to produce something unique, also proved to be extremely popular with those visitors looking to access new market opportunities. They were also able to see, at first hand, the vast range of films and patterns now available, including 3M’s DI-NOC and Vion’s Cover Styl’ series. This was further complemented by tours of the four Architextural Showrooms. each of which has been designed to a different brief that seeks to highlight the creative possibilities of wrapping, where visitors were able to learn more about appropriate film selection, managing timescales and the possible risk factors involved.
SMITH displayed the vast array of signage solutions on offer from the sign and display division of the Group during tours of the fabrication unit and visitors were all presented with their own sample built-up letter to take away!
The day also featured window film and PPF demonstrations, warehouse tours, competitions, a tools and accessories stall, plus an exclusive Vion offer, with visitors commenting favourably on both William Smith’s friendly, knowledgeable staff and all of the useful insights and information they had gained during the event.
