With Vism, it’s a win, win, win for Wahooti!
Wahooti is one of the country’s fastest growing full-service printing solutions providers. Thanks to a mix of knowledge, experience, and an unflinching commitment to customer service, combined with the implementation of Vism’s management information system, it has built a reputation for getting the job done and done to the highest quality.
Wahooti was formed in 2015 when Nick Manuel, a print buyer in an advertising agency, and his father, Julian, who worked for a large format printing company, decided to work together, Nick explained: “On our own we could provide the various elements of a printing project, but together we can provide a one-stop-shop capable of managing a whole project from conception to installation. The company has been built on our commitment to customer service and our mantra has always been – the answer is YES, now what’s the question?”
Key to the Wahooti business model is its relationship with the pool of tried, tested and fully vetted suppliers that Nick knows he can rely on to get the job done well. together with its significant buying power that ensures it is financially competitive.
Nick continued: “We have grown from zero to a £3 million annual turnover in just four years and now employ 10 staff. We specialise in providing complete end-to-end solutions for a range of companies, particularly to those operating within the construction sector and advertising agencies. We can deliver anything from business cards to massive advertising campaigns, as well as interior signage, wayfinding and manifestations and, in the past year or so, have really ramped up our large format printing and installation work too.”
Wahooti provides the overall management for projects, outsourcing a lot of the print work to other suppliers.Nick observed: “Most large format projects require a specialist fitter to carry out the installation. Whether we are doing this ourselves or using external suppliers, accurate and timely communication is extremely important. For a while, we were using Google calendar, Whatsapp and information briefing sheets produced in Word, all of which was extremely limiting in terms of sharing information and worse than useless when it came to knowing whether the customer had approved and signed-off the project.
“Accordingly, began to research other record-keeping methods and started to see a system called Vism pop up on various social media feeds. After investigating its web site, which was very clear and informative, we realised it was just what we were looking for and the fact that it was being used in some very large companies also gave us the confidence that it would be effective and deliver some huge benefits for us.”
Nick went on: “After the initial demo, I asked Vism to present the system to the rest of the team for an unbiased view. They loved it! By using Vism, you can immediately improve the whole process of requesting, arranging and completing a large format signage installation.”
As a cloud-based solution, which is specifically designed for use by the sign, graphic and installation sectors, implementing Vism is extremely fast, with access to the system being gained via a simple, secure login so there is virtually no set-up time. Wahooti was thus up and running almost immediately.
Taking up the story, Nick said: “For us, Vism’s biggest selling point was the fact that it enables us to hold all the information relevant to each of our projects in a central place that can be communicated to multiple installers in one go, thus enabling us to select the appropriate installer immediately. Previously, this would have taken many e-mails back and forth, sometimes leading to double-booking or misinformation. The installer then has all the information he needs on his smartphone, including the location and any special instructions. Furthermore, we can also quickly and easily update information when necessary. This simple improvement has saved us at least two days per month, which has had a hugely positive impact on our bottom line profitability.”
He added: “Another really valuable benefit of using Vism relates to customer sign-off. The installer can take a photo of the completed job and add it to the system, together with the customer’s sign off, so that we can close the project and invoice, thus speeding up payment times and improving cash flow.”
With much of Wahooti’s work being outsourced, Vism’s sub-contractor module enables it to collaborate effectively with its suppliers’ who also use the software. Nick opined: “This is such an important function for us, as when we use sub-contractors, it is vital that the whole process is seamless and that we maintain the same high level of service for all our installations.”
“Furthermore, I have been really impressed with the quality of product support and the responsiveness of the Vism team. We haven’t really had any technical issues, but it is always looking to improve the system and has really taken our requests and recommendations on board. Each new update seems to include functionality that we have discussed, enabling us to continually improve the efficiency and profitability of our installations.”
As well as streamlining more straightforward installations, Vism has helped Wahooti deal with the more complex demands of its larger customers by enabling it to break down the individual elements of each project into smaller jobs that it can route through different installers. The information then received from each installer can be quickly collated with the larger project, including details of more complex requirements such as international travel and specific documentation.
